This is the first year in an effort to green the San Ramon Chamber’s 2014 Wine & Dine event. Republic Services (formerly Allied Waste) is partnering with Sustainable San Ramon and the San Ramon Chamber,
and are excited to see how much we can divert from the landfill! We hope to improve each year and maybe one day get to zero waste! (Republic Services is providing the indoor recycling and compost containers, as well as the extra compost pick-up service).
We have been working with the event coordinators to implement some waste reduction strategies, such as consolidated waste stations and recycling and compost services. Based on the materials we expect to be generated at the San Ramon Chamber’s 2014 Wine and Dine event, Recycling Coordinator Kimberly Lam created customized signage to help event-goers understand where to properly dispose of their items.
Sustainable San Ramon volunteers will be at each waste station to help answer questions and assist people in putting materials in the correct containers.
